The opportunity for meaningful and productive engagement affords dignity to each of us. In Camphill Hudson, we value each individual’s ability to make a contribution to their world, and everyone has a regular and rhythmical schedule that engages with the wider community each day.
Members of the Camphill Hudson community gather at Solaris each morning, Monday to Friday, to begin the day together with song and verse, and to go over what each will do throughout the day. On a typical day we are cooking lunch and maintaining the building, engaging in craft work, volunteering in the local community and working together in our integrated theatre company the Camphill Hudson Players. |
Community Service
A spirit of volunteerism and bringing people together lives strongly in Camphill Hudson. Since its inception, residents have contributed hundreds of hours of service to their community. We volunteer at the Salvation Army kitchen, maintain the vegetable garden of a local church, volunteer at AnimalKind or visit elders at a retirement community.

Performing Arts
The day program in Camphill Hudson is balanced with opportunities for both movement and artistic expression with a strong emphasis on original theatre productions. Our Camphill Hudson Players theatre company has performed their original work regionally and has an annual event at the Hudson Hall.

Craft WorkCamphill Hudson believes in the therapeutic power of the creative arts, and we work with a variety of natural materials, including wool, paper and bees wax.
