On March 21, 2023, Sean Alec Barton delivered a speech at the World Down's Syndrome Day Conference at the United Nations in Manhattan. Sean had been invited through previous connections to speak about self-advocacy and decision-making, among participants from various countries. Click the video on the left to see his full speech.
The photo above is from the 2021 play, "The Green Snake and the Beautiful Lily," where Sean played the role of the will-o'-the-wisp. As friends and family members of Sean, we wholeheartedly invite you to support Camphill Hudson. Our goal this year is to raise $150,000, and we are thrilled to share that we have already raised $50,000. With your generous support, Sean and his friends will be able to continue their beloved annual original theater production as part of the Camphill Hudson Players.
Furthermore, your contribution will ensure the continuation of their vital lunch program, providing nourishing meals to Sean and his friends five days a week. Your support will also enable us to organize monthly community gatherings, where friends from the wider Hudson community come together to revitalize our cultural life.
Additionally, your generous gifts will allow Camphill Hudson to go above and beyond the care services provided by state funding, making a true and lasting difference in the lives of Sean and those we support. Your support is invaluable in helping us create a brighter future for Sean and our community.
Thank you for considering joining us on this meaningful journey. Together, we can make a lasting impact and enhance the lives of Sean and those we serve.
With heartfelt gratitude, Sean, Gary Barton, and Eveline Erni
